Submission to the Australian Law Reform Commission’s Review of the Family Law System

In May 2018 the Setting the Record Straight Initiative developed a submission for the Review of the Family Law System by the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC). In our submission we highlighted:

• The need for legal processes that respect the information rights of adults and children.
• Ensuring reforms reflect the paramount importance of creating and maintaining recordkeeping policy, practices, and systems that afford all participants and, especially, children and families, agency in the creation, and ongoing management of and access to records through time.
